Bihu
The Bihu dance is an indigenous folk dance from the Indian state of Assam related to the Bihu festival and an important part of Assamese culture. The Bihu dance takes its name from the Bohag Bihu festival (also called Rangali Bihu), the national festival of Assam, which celebrates the Assamese New Year.The festival takes place during mid-April and the Bihu dance is meant to celebrate and emulate the seasonal spirit, celebrating fertility and passion.

Lohri / Giddha
Lohri is the celebration of the arrival of longer days after the winter solstice. According to folklore, in ancient times Lohri was celebrated at the end of the traditional month when winter solstice occurs. It celebrates the days getting longer as the sun proceeds on its northward journey
Giddha is a popular folk dance of women in the Punjab region. The dance is often considered derived from the ancient dance known as the ring dance and is just as energetic as bhangra; at the same time it manages to creatively display feminine grace, elegance and flexibility.

Bhangra
Bhangra is a type of traditional folk dance of Punjab, originating in the Sialkot area of Punjab, Pakistan. It is done in the season of harvesting. According to Manuel (2001), bhangra is especially associated with the vernal Vaisakhi festival.

Raibenshe Folk Dance
Raibenshe is a genre of Bengali Folk martial dance performed by male only. This genre of dance was once very popular in West Bengal. This dance involves vigorous and manly movements of the body along with the acrobatics of a Raibansh (a long bamboo stick). This dance is accompanied by Dhols and Kanshis. This dance is performed by Bagdi community.

करमा लोक नृत्य जो उत्तर प्रदेश के जनपद सोनभद्र में प्रचलित है। यह आदिवासी नृत्य कर्मा पूजा के शरदकालीन त्योहार के दौरान किया जाता है । यह नृत्य गोंडवाना की लोक संस्कृति से संबंधित है । पुरुष और महिलाएं ठुमकी, छल्ला, पेरी और झुमकी जैसे वाद्य यंत्रों की धुन पर नाचते हैं ।

चारकुला नृत्य(Charkula Dance)
उत्तर प्रदेश के सबसे शानदार लोक नृत्यों में से एक जो पश्चिमी उत्तर प्रदेश के ब्रज क्षेत्र में व्यापक रूप से लोकप्रिय है । यह संतुलन का एक कठिन कार्य है जहां एक छिपी हुई महिला नर्तकी लकड़ी के पिरामिड प्लेटफॉर्म पर रखे अपने सिर पर 108 तेल के दीपक के साथ प्रदर्शन करती है।
Charkula is a dance performed in the Braj region of Uttar Pradesh. In this dance, veiled women balancing large multi-tiered circular wooden pyramids on their heads dance to songs about Krishna. Each pyramid has 108 lighted oil lamps arranged in a spiral. It is specially performed on the third day after Holi.
Broad rules and regulations for the help and better performance of the artist:
- Cultural events of the Youth Festival would require projecting fundamental values of Indian culture by displaying values oriented towards the unity of our country, integrity, truth, friendship, peace, devotion, loyalty etc. With particular reference to Indian cultural heritage
- The Organizer & coordinator (Events) may re-schedule and pre-announce programme on account of any sudden developments/exigency
- The team shall participate in the order/sequence decided by the organizers
- Participating teams have to report at the venues at least 60 minutes in advance
- At the most three announcements will be made for participating teams after which the entry may be cancelled
- Announcement of items of various teams will be made by the compares. Participants shall handover synopsis of items in English or Hindi well in advance, latest by the evening of 12 Jan. 2023
- Announcements will be done in English and Hindi only
- Cultural item will start with signal by the time keeper (either ringing of the bell or lighting the bulb)
- It shall be the responsibility of the contingent leader to ensure that the team reports for various events as per the time and order announced by the organizers
- The participants must bring their own musical instruments or other special properties required for different items
- Electronic instruments such as synthesizers etc. would not be permitted to play under competitive section
- For all the items decision of the panel of judges will be final and binding on all. No complaints and protests will be entertained
- All the items to be performed by the participants shall be under the banner of the respective State governments. No group or solo performer(s) will be permitted to use their group / individual banners of identity
- Five to ten percent marks will be deducted, if the performer(s) cross the maximum time limit for a particular item
Instructions:
- Maximum number of participants allowed per team is twenty, which includes accompanists also. The team may consist of all boys, all girls or a mixture of both.
- The dance can be either primitive or a folk dance (Indian style) but not a classical or Ballets.
- Duration of the dance is 15 minutes.
- For setting of the stage extra five minutes are allowed.
- Three copies of brief note (synopsis) giving the theme and the text of the song, if any, are to be submitted along with the entry form to the organisers.
- The participating team will be responsible for removal of their sets, properties etc, immediately after completion of their performance.
- Judgment will base on ryhthm, choreography, costumes, make-up, sets and overall effects.
- Pre-recorded music (tape, cassette, etc) is not permitted under this item.
